This is a very special day – our V Quana vom Klausener Grund, SchH1, Kkl1, a1/a1 had 10 healthy German Shepherd puppies today! 3 boys and 7 girls. The proud dad is V2 (NASS) Yash von der Bastillie, SchH3, Kkl1, a1/a1.

The mom is resting with the babies under my constant supervision in our office. Please come back often to watch these new German Shepherd puppies developing.

German Shepherd puppies - newborn

Since my hands are pretty tied up with the little ones, our dogs will have to move from a completely raw/homemade diet to some frequent kibble meals. Chad is going to the store today to pick up 5 cases of Organ Mix and Raw Green Tripe, but also will get a few bags of Orijen. I believe this is the best dry dog food on the market today.

Yash: 4 scoops of kasha + 5 tablespoons of finely ground Organic apples + 2 tablespoons of finely chopped fresh Organic parsley and dill + 1 tablespoon of Olewo + 1 teaspoon of Organic Kelp

Puppies:
Morning:
Each puppy had: 3 sardines

Evening:
Each puppy had: 2 scoops of kasha + 4 tablespoons of finely ground Organic apples + 2 tablespoons of finely chopped fresh Organic parsley and dill + 1 tablespoon of Olewo + 1 teaspoon of Organic Kelp + 1 scoop of Gelatine

Homemade dog food recipe for today:
For 4 adults and 3 puppies:
In a large pan, combine 1/2 cup of olive oil and 2.5 lbs of chopped beef liver.

Raw Liver - Homemade dog food recipe

Roast for 10 minutes on med/high, stirring occasionally, so it’s brown on all sides. Add 1 large onion (2 cups chopped) and roast for 5 more minutes.

In a large pot, combine 2.2 lb of Organic round brown rice, 1 lb 12 oz of Organic fire roasted crushed tomatoes, 5 quarts of water, and roasted liver, and boil for 30 minutes. Add 1 lb Organic rolled oats, 2 cups fresh Organic chopped parsley, and 12 garlic cloves

Homemade dog food recipe ingredients

I also decided to add 1.5 cups finely chopped fresh snap peas pods and 1 tablespoon of dry whole oregano.

Snap peas pods

Boil it for 10 more minutes. Let it cool completely. It smells great!

Homemade dog food recipe - final result

The Kasha will come out rather thick. You can freeze the unused portion, or keep it in the refregirator for up to 4 days safely.
