Roast for 10 minutes on med/high, stirring occasionally, so it’s brown on all sides. Add 1 large onion (2 cups chopped) and roast for 5 more minutes.

The Kasha will come out rather thick. You can freeze the unused portion, or keep it in the refregirator for up to 4 days safely.

Does this recipe provide plenty of protein and nutrients for my growing Shepherd? How much will the recipe make, enough for a week worth of feedings?

  2. admin Says:

It provides enough nutrients as a part of a balanced diet. It is important to also feed raw meat, bones, and organs along with this recipe. This amount is enough for us to feed 8-9 dogs, so I guess it could last 8-9 days for one dog. If you only have one dog, it probably makes sense to cut this recipe at least into half, so that you feed your dog fresh food.
