Breed Survey

The breed survey procedures serve to promote a disciplined breeding of the German Shepherd Dog and apply to the entire breed survey activities. They are binding for all club members.

The purpose of the breed survey procedures is to select breed animals that appear particularly suited in regard to their temperament, their performances and their physical appearance.

Breed Survey registration deadline is March 19, 2011.

   
   
  

Required Documentation for Breed Survey Participation

  1. 1. BH Requirement.
    Proof of a BH title awarded by an SV or SVF Trial Judge
  2. 2. AD (Endurance Test) Requirement.
    Proof of an AD awarded by an SV or SVF Judge. Dogs six years of age or older are exempt from the AD requirement.
  3. 3. Performance Title.
    Proof of at least one SchH or IP title awarded by an SV or SVF Trial Judge. A minimum of 80 points in phase C is required.
  4. 4. HGH (Herding title).
    With proof of a HGH title awarded by an SV or SVF Judge, the AD, BH and SchH or IP requirements are waived.
  5. 5. Hip Certification.
    Proof of OFA, SV “a” stamp, or other SV approved hip certification.
  6. 6. Elbow Certification.
    Proof of SV or other SV approved elbow certification.
  7. 7. Breed Show Rating.
    Proof of a minimum Breed Show evaluation of “Good” awarded by an SV or SVF Judge.
   
   
  

Other Requirements for Breed Survey Participation

  1. Owners of the dogs must be residing in the United States.
  2. Dogs must be a minimum of two years old within the calendar year of the Breed Survey.
  3. Sick animals may not be presented.
  4. Females in season must be reported to the breed survey master, who controls participation.
  5. Females in whelp must be reported to the breed survey master, who controls participation.
  6. Dogs must be identifiable by a recognizable tattoo or microchip number.
   
   
  

Breed Survey Helpers

Breed Survey HelperJosh Markow has been involved in the sport of Schutzhund as both a handler and a helper for over ten years. He is a certified helper with Schutzhund USA, and both a helper and a performance judge for the Working American Bulldog Association and the National Working Dog Association. Josh is also a certified National rated WDA helper, and worked numerous club trials as well as he was the front half helper for the 2010 WDA Nationals. He is currently raising a German Shepherd Dog, Ickky Vom Teufelsgarten, as a potential sport prospect.

 
   
   
  

Registering for the Survey

One more time, documents to bring:

1. Original pedigree. See "Registration" for complete pedigree requirements.

2. Original registration certificate with proof of ownership (if not in the pedigree).

3. Original scorebook showing proof of AD, BH, and SchH/IP or HGH titles (if not in the pedigree).

4. Original OFA hip evaluation certificate or a pedigree with SV “a” stamp, or other SV approved hip certification.

5. Original breed survey report in cases of resurvey.

6. SV or other SV approved elbow certification must be presented.

7. Original show card.
